Steve Andrews,
Senior Pastor

I
grew up in a church going family along with my two brothers in
Connellsville, Pennsylvania. Although I attended a Baptist church
weekly, I lacked any real understanding of personal salvation until June
of 1985. It was at a church camp that I heard and responded to the
"good news of Jesus." |

God blessed me with a wonderful help-mate and soul-mate and I married Julie Wolcott in December of 1995. In time I graduated from Mt. Vernon Nazarene College with a Bachelor's Degree in Religion. Julie and I then began a life of ministry as I worked through 5 years of youth ministry at Ontario Christian Fellowship in Mansfield, Ohio. In March of 2000, the leadership of Vesper Lake Bible Fellowship contacted me with this opportunity and encouraged me to pray about coming to VLBF as senior pastor. In March of 2001, my wife and I came on staff here. Every day we are reminded how much we depend on His grace. Contact Steve Andrews: 330-618-1854 or email |

I was born into
a Christian family, with two wonderful parents, an older brother and two
older sisters. My parents both wanted to reach each of us kids with the
Gospel at a young age. In August 1980, I came to a saving knowledge of
the Lord Jesus Christ while I was asking my mom questions about the
Lord. Since that time I have seen the Lord’s hand guiding me into the
ministry. As a young child I always had the desire to be a missionary.
In high school I was able to go to Ireland, the Dominican Republic, and
Trinidad on missions trips. These trips solidified in my heart that the
ministry was the path that God has called me to. Because of decisions made in high school I decided to go to Bible College and ended up at Word of Life Bible Institute for two years. After graduating there I attended Liberty University and received a B.S. in Religion. I decided to stay at Liberty and attend Seminary where I received an M.A. in Religion. During my education God began to lay youth ministry upon my heart. I realized that it was in my teen years when I made some of the most important decisions in my life and wanted to have the opportunity to impact young people for God, as they will be facing the same issues I did. |

It was in
seminary that God laid upon me my life verse, John 17:3. “And this is
life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus
Christ, whom thou hast sent.” I realized that the most important thing
in life is knowing God. Salvation is not a bunch of does and don’ts but
knowledge of God. And more than that, God wants us to know Him. Upon graduating I began searching for where God would want me to serve. In late 2002 I first made contact with Vesper Lake Bible Fellowship and through God’s direction started here in June 2003. I thank the Lord for His guidance and am truly blessed to be part of this fellowship. Contact Brad Horner: 330-322-3232 or email |
